NHBRC Registration – Administration Fee
Professional assistance with the complete National Home Builders Registration Council (NHBRC) registration process for home builders and developers in South Africa.
Our Administration Fee: R1,500.00
This fee covers our professional service of guiding you through the NHBRC application, document preparation, portal submission, and process management.
Important – Client is Responsible for NHBRC Fees
The R1,500.00 is our administration fee only. You (the client) are responsible for paying all official NHBRC fees directly to the NHBRC. Current NHBRC fees (as of 2026) are:
- Initial application fee: R745.61 (non-refundable, once-off)
- Annual membership fee: R526.32 (payable every year on renewal)
- First-year total payable to NHBRC: approximately R1,271.93
Optional (paid to NHBRC if required):
- Home Builders Manual only: R87.82
- Home Builders Manual + SANS 10400: R3,168.15
Note: Enrolment fees for individual homes (per project) are separate and calculated according to the selling price of the home. These are not included in the builder registration fees above.
Documents Required by NHBRC
Please prepare the following (all certified copies must be less than 3 months old):
- Valid CIPC company registration documents (e.g. COR14.1, COR14.1A, COR14.3, CM29, CK1/CK2 – Pty Ltd preferred)
- Certified copies of ID or passport of all directors / members / partners / trustees
- For non-South African directors: certified passport + valid work permit
- Stamped bank confirmation letter or cancelled cheque (not older than 3 months)
- Proof of business or residential address (utility bill, lease, etc. – not older than 3 months)
- Appointment letter for the Technical Manager (including confirmation of technical competence and written acceptance) – required if the Technical Manager is not a managing member
- SARS Tax Compliance Status PIN or valid Tax Clearance Certificate
- Ownership / structure documents where applicable:
- Share certificates
- Trust deed / resolution
- Partnership agreement
- Co-operative constitution
- Signed consent letter for credit check (if requested)
Turnaround Times
- Typical end-to-end process: 4 – 6 weeks (provided all documents are correct and the Technical Assessment is passed on the first attempt)
- Application review by NHBRC: usually within 1–2 weeks after submission and payment
- Technical Assessment: must be written and passed within 30 days of payment (2 attempts allowed)
- Builder’s Induction workshop: scheduled after successful assessment
- Certificate issuance: after successful induction (online certificate)
Renewals are faster – approximately 4 working days once documents and payment are submitted.
